BNSF 647 is the second unit on a northbound manifest freight passing Tukwila. The C44-9W is still painted in the colors of BNSF's predecessor, Santa Fe. When BNSF was created, its paint scheme was partially derives from Santa Fe's corporate image. Elements such as the cigar band stripe on the front of the Warbonnet can also be found on the rear of the H3 GEVO in front of it. 647 was built for the Santa Fe in 1994, one of the last engines built built before the merger. |
