BWCX. Here is the first of five successive original 35mm color slides (converted to B&W) that were taken at the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 12 April 1960. Shown here is the Vulcan 0-4-0T steam locomotive named "Nancy." The builder's badge specifies "Vulcan Locomotive Works ~ 1918." This locomotive was retired during the Winter of 1963-1964, so it served faithfully for 46 years! Pictured here (R to L) are Engineman Robert Wingard and a Brakeman whose name is not recorded. |
