Description:
This is an example of an Alco-Brooks Mikado originally built for the Wheeling & Lake Erie as a class M-1 "heavy Mikado" in 8/1918 and acquired by the Nickel Plate in 1949. it also had the typical 63" drivers and 200 psi boiler pressure. It met is demise when sold for scrap in 10/1955 to the Luntz Iron & Steel Co. This is an August, 1970 reprint of a C. W. Burns photo.
