| This photo shows the BNSF yard office in the "lower yard" at Rock Island, IL. During this period, DME/ICE, BNSF, and IAIS all had tracks in this yard and sometimes there were trains from one, two, or all three roads here at the same time. I also admire the ingenuity of those who reworked a 20-foot or so container for extra space. I never saw the inside of this office but we can only imagine all that went on. May I also say thanks to the people who gave some of their best years to the railroad industry. |
