Minneapolis and St. Louis D-538  Contributor's Pick!       
The Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway existed from 1870 to 1960. It had tracks in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. Like the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, however, it never reached one of its cities (St. Louis), though it did have a passenger train (the North Star Limited) that ran there via the Wabash Railroad.
