PRR "Red Arrow" Wreck, Rescue, #1 of 11, 1947
WB. Here is an image of a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at Bennington Curve near Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, on 18 February 1947. Shown here is a scene following the wreck of the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Red Arrow" passenger train. By my count, two locomotives, two tenders, and six cars are involved. In the background, an unidentified K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" steam locomotive pulls an eastbound passenger train past the scene. William E. Burket Collection.
