Here is a photo by Don Wood via Rail Photo Service. Caption On Reverse: "40 miles out of Altoona, M-1A 6774 out of Harrisburg raps it out with 75 loads. DW." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6774, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during November of 1930 and retired in February of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service. It's the very last Juniata-built "Mountain." The date and the location are not recorded. John S. Fisher Collection; #11 of 13. |
