Tom Beckett	General	This would have to have been taken after 1965, when CNJ acquired their SD 35's. The 1968 date on the photo would be possible, though not October 1, or for that matter, any time in October, as there would still be leaves on the trees, color peaking around the end of the month. This is more likely March or so, judging by the lack of snow, but, just a guess. Judging by the size of the yard, the configuration-the main went down the middle of the yard-and the terrain, this might be Allentown, which is still in service for NS. CNJ 1520 & CNJ 2505
Fairly nice black and white action photo of Central RR of New Jersey GP7 #1520 and CNJ SD35 #2505 with a long string of boxcars in an unidentified yard. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo unfortunately. CNJ was slowly sliding into serious financial problems by the time this photo was taken. Conrail take-over will be its salvation/destruction depending on how you view the merger. Based on a comment by Tom Beckett (see below), this site matches the hump yard at Allentown, PA. Thanks, Tom!
