PRR 1485, B-6SB, c. 1953
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken just to the East of the 4th Street Footbridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1485, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during March of 1916 and retired in August of 1957 after 41 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the left is one of the PRR's Passenger Car Shop buildings. At the right, an unidentified "I" Class (2-10-0) "Decapod" steam locomotive scurries about with yard work.
