PRR 3740, K-4S, 1951
Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Morris Park. New York, on 15 February 1951. Visible on the left is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3740, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1920 and retired in February of 1956 after 36 years of faithful service. In this context, it's workin' on the Long Island Rail Road. Unfortunately, the numbers of the other locomotives pictured here are not recorded. The Houser Collection.
