The 'port holes' / cut-outs along the sides - I presume prevents over-filling with ballast rock/material. Someone packing more brain than I care to clarify? (Not sure, but it would appear the Connell ladder yard is rapidly falling into disuse - in years past, would never expect to see this much (attempted) vegetation to be sprouting among the tracks.) |
