Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2343 and #2369. Both are EF-25's built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train past SLOPE Tower, and are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge on their way up the Allegheny Mountains to Pittsburgh and points West. |
