Tyler Bundy General I could be wrong, but I've always believed that this was the Illinois Central Depot, being on their north/south main line. The current Normal Amtrak depot should be directly behind and out of sight. 5/26/2005 10:40:36 PM
Alan Fricker General This is the old IC depot in Normal. My Watterson Towers room looked out over this depot from 16 stories up. If I ever get a slide scanner I'll be posting the photos I took back then. 1/30/2011 1:29:29 PM
Logan Geigner General You are both correct; this was the freight depot for the IC line through Normal, IL. The passenger depot was across the street to the South on the Northwest quadrant of the diamond with the Alton route. Thanks 1/9/2012 8:56:33 PM
Thomas Dyrek General All of you are wrong. That is Abe's Carmellcorn. That building was made to look like the original IC/C&A depot. It's just a replica. The real depot came down in 1974. Both buildings are gone now, as is the IC tracks. 5/25/2015 7:40:03 AM
Thomas Dyrek General As for the freight depot, it was gone by 1970. 5/25/2015 7:41:25 AM
