Prominent here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5846 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5846 was constructed in August of 1947. In this context, this A-A set is powering Train #32 ~ the eastbound "St. Louisan" ~ around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to the Passenger Station in Altoona. |
