Per ICC railroad accident investigation Report No 4081, On Mar 7,1966 at Buelow,MT. EWD No 32,The Emipire Builder, consisting of units 368C 357B 370A with 14 cars at 1108am in clear weather,was struck head on 366ft from heading in the West siding switch at Buelow MT moving at 18mph. The opposing passenger extra West 352A, a makeup Western Star(actual scheduled Star was severly delayed by blizzard at Beckenridge MN). Extra 352A West consisted of 352A 362B 359A with 13 cars failing to stop at Absolute siganal WSS Buelow on main track. Moving at 60mph at point of impact. No 32's fireman jumped clear, X352AWest fireman was back in 2nd unit tending alarm bells. Both engrs perished,77 injured. Ironically President John Budd and the Vice pres operations,where aboard No 32. Thanks Mike for the grizzly shot. Hope this helped Jacobs question.
