Former Knox and Kane #39 is on rails that it once ran daily while in service with the Johnsonburg, Kane, Warren and Irvine RR, a lesser known Cornell owned railroad. Unfortunately, she will never again see the Knox & Kane rails, as this closes a chapter in the book of Knox & Kane history. Fortunately, there is a sequel, as the Georges Creek Railway purchased #39, and Im sure Gerald Altizer and his team will do another stellar job when they restore her back into her original Western Maryland Circus paint scheme. After the arson, on a sunny day you could see the Western Maryland letter showing through, and note the Chessie paint showing on the nose.

Atlanta Rails General Glad to see this engine has a bright future even if the same cannot be said for the railroad. Im glad Gerald will be painting this one in Circus, that was a nice scheme that hasnt gotten much notice in the preservation world. 7/1/2009 2:35:27 PM
Ryan Kertis General I can't wait to see this loco when it's finished being restored! I'm sure it'll look just as good as the other Ex WM Geep he owns. 7/1/2009 3:49:41 PM
