Description:
Here is another proud Frisco 2-8-0 Consolidation sitting in the scrap line in the Monett, MO yard. Built by Baldwin in December of 1906 (serial #29731), SLSF #980 lasted for nearly 42 years before meeting the scrapper's torch in May of 1948. Specs - 55" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 181,500 lb, tractive effort of 38,160 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo
