Description:
Here is another example of Reading Shops ingenuity when they rebuilt RDG 2-8-8-2 #1803 (serial #45278) into this sleeker 2-10-2 #3008. It lasted until being scrapped in 1954. A note on the back of the photo by the photographer states "Reading Co #3008., Santa Fe, (2-10-2) on cleaning pit, Reading shops." No photographer was listed but this may be an Alton E. Bowers photo
