Description:
Freshly delivered from the Montreal Locomotive Works, this S2 (clas DS-10h) gleams in the afternoon sun as it pushes a string of cars in the yard. This was a turbocharged ALCO 6-539 4-cycle engine rated at 1000 Hp and worked the switcher duties until being retired in February of 1982. Note the "smiling" face on the front of the loco! CP S2 #7098 - Canadian Pacific
Description:
Here is another 1949 Montreal Locomotive Works S2 sw`tcher. This was from the DS-10j class and was a turbocharged ALCO 6-539 4-cycle engine rated at 1000 Hp. It worked the yards until retirement in December of 1982. Io 1985, it was sold to A. Merilees 1985 and then resold to Donohue Bros. THe cab roof was lowered for mill clearances and renumbered to 1079. The date of this photo is approximate. No photographer listed for this one.
