Album Info:The EMRY is owned by the same folks who own & operate the New Brunswick Southern.. EMRY consists of trackage between Brownville Jct. (jct with CMQ) & Vanceboro, Maine (jct w/ NBSR) at the Canadian boarder. Once upon a time not so long ago CP operated inter-modal trains and VIA’s Atlantic Limited over this line between St.John, NB and Montreal, PQ. The only other interchange on this line is with PAR (former MEC) at Mattawamkeag. In this series we pick up NBSR’s manifest train out of Millinocket at the RT116 Xing in Chester, Me followed by a few shots of the NBSR leaving cars for PAR at Mattawamkeag. /DL

Backing onto PAR

Description:  If I've followed the media tea leaves correctly this yard is already or is about to be taken out of service. Easterly traffic in and out of New England will move onto Central Maine & Quebec (former MMA/BAR) at Northern Maine Jct in Hermon for interchange onto the EMRY at Brownville Jct. This change in part due to the closure of a paper mill at Great Works and the pending closure of Verso at Bucksport this December. /DL

Penobscot River Bridge

Description:  There's a siding across the river just 'round the bend. This set of locomotives pulled back and forth across the bridge for the next 45 minutes sorting cars between the siding and the main line. /DL
