UP 9696 former CNW 8632 |
Description: |
I remember seeing one of these units back in 1999, still looking factory fresh and damn sharp in its unpatched CNW paint scheme, a shame that most of them look like this now. |

NS 52A departing Atlanta with a elusive blue SD60 |
Description: |
NS 52A rolls through the gulch bright and early on this September morning behind an elusive blue SD60. Very few have received this paint scheme and getting them on the point is rare. A few weeks ago one led but we got screwed by a deteriorating weather pattern which lead to complete cloud buildup when we tried to chase it. Today the train was originally to be called out of Atlanta at 5 which would have put it on the South end at a good time for a chase. Instead the call time was bumped up to 8 so I had to make do with a downtown shot, but then amazingly the train departed 50 minutes after the call time, instead of the usual 2 or 3 hours afterwords which unfortunately precluded any better shots. |
